Stephanie Robinson
Interim Environmental Education Program Specialist
Stephanie has been a part of the Environmental Education Division of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation (formally Fairmount Park Commission) for over 20 years.

From a young age, Stephanie has always enjoyed playing outdoors, and especially in the park. In 5th grade, thanks to her science teacher, Stephanie knew she wanted to be a science teacher or a zoologist. She attended Abraham Lincoln High School’s Environmental Technology Academy, where she was also a tour guide for school groups at Fox Chase Farm. She continued her education at East Stroudsburg University and received a Bachelors of Science in both Environmental Studies and Biology. There she had the opportunity to explore the Pocono Mountains and the Delaware Water Gap.

Stephanie began her career as a seasonal Recreation Specialty Instructor at Pennypack Environmental Center in 1999. She later worked at the Tree house for a year, before becoming a fulltime Environmental Education Planner in February of 2003. At this time, she was the “Floating Educator” for the park system and had the great opportunity to get to know all three of the Environmental Centers in Fairmount Park, before settling in at Pennypack Environmental Center (PEC).
Over her tenure at PEC, Stephanie has enjoyed helping to create a wide range of programs for all ages. Some of her favorites included Mommy, Me and Nature, PEC Teen Advisory Council and Teen Adventures Week for 13-17 year-olds. She has also worked alongside her team to organize annual Applefest, Greens Sale, Maple Sugar Day, Spring Plant Sale, Sheep Shearing Day and Summer Hayride Nights at Fox Chase Farm.
Back at Pennypack as Environmental Education Program Specialist (Interim), Stephanie has excelled at continuing and improving these traditional programs, managing the Center, and supporting her team to excel at their best, all for the benefit of the park and its visitors.

When Stephanie isn’t in Fairmount Park, she enjoys spending time with her family. Along with her husband and children, Stephanie enjoys exploring new places, camping and hiking, and would like to eventually visit every State and National Park in the United States.
